I believe that the best way to ensure that the food you're eating is wholesome and free of additives, preservatives, and is the highest quality is to to cook it yourself.
Unfortunately, knowledge of basic cooking techniques has fallen by the wayside in the era of fast food, frozen meals, and cheap restaurant fare. Too many people consider their microwave to be their most important cooking appliance!
I offer group cooking classes such as:
- Family Friendly Grain-Free Cooking
- Delicious Treats with Less Sugar
- Fresh Ways with Vegetables
- Cooking with Health Fats and Proteins
- Easy Fermented Foods at Home
If you are motivated to learn to cook in a hands on way, I also offer individual cooking instruction in your home.
Whether you cook often and want to learn more advanced skills or you have never held a knife and don't know how to boil water, I will assess your current level of knowledge and start from there, teaching you how to cook foods that you and your family will enjoy. The satisfaction and pride that I feel when I've created a beautiful delicious meal that also is deeply nourishing is something that I would love for everyone to be able to experience.
I believe that anyone can learn to cook, even if they don't think so themselves.
This is especially important for people with food sensitivities, allergies, celiac disease or gluten intolerance, and other conditions that can benefit from eating whole, nutrient dense, and well prepared food.

Amy Nadeau is a perfect teacher. She is clear, concise, and encouraging, and brings depth and breadth of experience to her classes. Amy's instructions range from how to best cut vegetables to the use of umami, the deep natural flavors found in certain foods. Most importantly, she teaches cooking techniques, such as braising, that can be used with many kinds of meats, vegetables and carbohydrates, to foster confidence and creativity.
Amy is thoroughly kind and supportive, and fun to work with. I recommend her with pleasure.
